What writing does for me...

My expression with words, comes from a deep place in my mind connected to my heart that if spoken out loud does it no justice. I write with intention to help the reader, whomever that may be, understand each detail and I attempt to captivate them so that there be no misunderstandings or misconceptions. I am a woman of many words and make no apologies for it. We often get dismissed and silenced as women, and no, I am not a feminist. I am feminine, I matter, my words matter, and it lifts a weight from my chest when I put the pen to the paper. The pen IS indeed mightier than the sword as it is told, for the words on paper can cut to the bone as well as mend the heart. Depending on the intentions made in my direction, I can cut or I can mend. It's all relative in what I choose in that moment.

My fiction writing is my own. I would never reveal what experiences are mine, or what come to my mind from life, movies, or other books. Everyone's story is their own. Although some might accuse me of secrecy, I counter them by saying this:

If God wanted everyone to know our thoughts and feelings, he would have made us to communicate telepathically, so what I write is of my own mind, my own imagination, and no one needs to know the difference.
